Training and professionalisation for CSA players doing a Study Abroad Program

Barcelona Global Squash offers a win-win solution for players, coaches, and colleges alike.

While CSA players are doing their study abroad program in Barcelona, they can choose one of various training programs within the BGS Performance Academy. During the year, the Performance Academy focuses on:

  • Bright and promising young players who wish to become professionals and join the PSA Professional Circuit.
  • Helping and developing young professionals who are already on the PSA circuit and who need a framework and roadmap to break into the Top 100.
  • Providing bespoke programs for professionals interested in working on a particular aspect of their game in new and fresh surroundings with Spain’s leading coach, Víctor Montserrat.

CSA players will be able to work on their technique, tactics, mental game, nutrition, etc as well as receive top class physical preparation and match play opportunities with BGS Performance Academy professionals. Now for the first time CSA players can combine a study abroad program with top class squash and physical preparation, thereby minimally maintaining their level and fitness while at the same time being committed to an academic program. They and their coaches no longer need to be concerned about missing the pre-season period back home; they will arrive back in the US ready for the core season with their game and fitness at a new level.

The BGS Performance Academy is directed by Víctor Montserrat, Spain’s leading coach and ambassador of the brand Unsquashable. He himself learned his skills both as a player and as a coach from Neil Harvey, exclusive coach for 10 consecutive years to ex – world nº 1 Peter Nicol. The Academy was strengthened in 2016 by the incorporation of Spain’s Technical Head Coach with ESF Level III qualifications, Joaquin Marmaneu. Both Victor and Joaquin are supported by UNSQUASHABLE sponsored players and brand ambassadors, providing a simply balanced, inspiring and unforgettable experience and opportunity for accelerated training.

CSA players can choose the intensity of the training according to their academic program commitments; BGS reports back to coaches in the US with feedback on progress and development; coaches no longer need to be concerned about their players disappearing from under their radar; players can train, live, learn and professionalise their approach and their game itself.
