DUKE CLUB SQUASH TRAINING IN BGS
BGS TEAM TRAINING PROGRAM. DUKE UNIVERSITY CLUB SQUASH.
BGS once again welcomed another team from the USA this last March, this time the Club Squash Team from the prestigious east coast university DUKE.
The team experienced intensive daily sessions led by BGS Head Coach Victor Montserrat, backed up by his team of young pro players from the BGS Performance Academy. Combining new drills and routines with 1-to-1 classes and match play opportunties, the Duke Club Squash team worked hard and showed a consistent and serious approach to their training. This on-court work was backed up by Fitness sessions led and directed by BGS Head S&C Coach Bet Consegal where the Duke team learnt new and invaluable warm up and cool down routines. All of this mixed with fun outings to the marvellous city of Barcelona. All in all a great week!
DUKE CLUB SQUASH TEAM.
Duke club squash is a growing program for both Duke undergraduates and graduates. Over the past several seasons, the nine members of the undergraduate travel team have seen huge successes as a program, including a national title and a steady rise in the rankings of college squash teams.
DUKE SQUASH CLUB FEEDBACK.
The Duke Squash team came to Barcelona for a week to train and learn within the BGS Academy; they left BGS an improved, closer and stronger team.
The feedback from individual members of the team is once again our best reward and strengthens BGS’s already firm commitment to offering top class team training programs with a difference. Here below are the testimonials from some of the Duke team.
KARTHIK SUNDARAMOORTHY. Duke Club Squash Coach.
“Every last detail of the trip was organized with lots of recovery time sprinkled.
BGS Academy cares for squash as a lifestyle that is worth celebrating!
The wealth of information that we received has put us on a path to future success.
We learnt how to access ourselves at every aspect of squash and then break it down to identify each one into steps that is unique for the individual. Tools have been provided now time to shine.
We also learnt that teamwork is the only way to get better.
The team has a warm up and cool down routine that has been drilled into them.
Thank you Adrian, Cris, Victor, Bet, Dani, Juanse, Tess, Ivan, Ash, et al.
GRIFFIN McDANIEL Duke Club Squash player.
“Not only did we receive top quality coaching while in Barcelona, but BGS provided us with training suggestions that we’re able to utilize in our training back on campus. Adrian,Victor, Bet, Cris and the rest of the staff were incredibly knowledgable of squash and welcoming to the city. Our growth both as players and as a team was unbelievable.”
SUSAN YUN. Duke Club Squash player.
“After coming to BGS I felt like I have significantly improved my squash game in just one week. I have a better sense of how to solo-drill and move around the court better. In addition, the opportunity to get coached by professionals was a unique experience.”
PHILIPPE HEITZMANN. Duke Club Squash player.
“The Duke Squash team came to practice with and learn from the Barcelona Global Squash academy for six days. And after this week I couldn’t be happier with how much the team has improved and how we have also become closer as a group. The fun excursions that Adrian organized outside of the many practice sessions we had, such as those to the Sagrada Family and to the Go Karting arena, also made for great bonding experiences that complemented well the intense squash lessons we had daily. Overall I could not be happier with how the trip was organized and how we were taken care of during our stay in Barcelona, and want to thank again the whole academy and Adrian for these amazing past couple days.”
IAN BUCHANAN. Duke Club Squash player.
“I had a fantastic time training through the BGS program with our team. Over the course of the week, I undoubtedly improved as a squash player and came away with a clear idea of the steps I need to take to get to the next level. In addition, it was an incredible opportunity to stay in Barcelona and explore its myriad cultural activities when not on the court. I would highly recommend BGS to anyone looking to improve their squash game and have a great time while doing so.”
BGS wishes the Duke Club Team the very best in their efforts and aspirations to take their existing club status to a varsity level and look forward to being able to help and support them as they go forward.
