VÍCTOR MONTSERRAT. AJ BELL GRAND PRIX
Víctor Montserrat at the AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix 2016.
Yesterday was an unforgettable day for our BGS Head Coach Víctor Montserrat when he played an exhibition match with Joel Makin as part of the Jahangir Khan 555 Challenge just before the AJ Bell second semifinal.
Joel is the current world number 60 and expected to be a world class top player in the future. Víctor Montserrat also had the opportunity to talk about the Barcelona Global Squash project, and the interest of the BGS Academy in putting Spanish Squash back at the TOP.
Víctor Montserrat’s thanks after the match:
“Thanks to Paul Walters, the tournament director and manager of Unsquashable for giving me this opportunity; to Jahangir Khan for what he told me after the match; to Steve Cubbins for giving me endless wonderful photos of what for me has been a priceless moment and of course thanks to everyone who has congratulated and supported me just now as always.”
Víctor Montserrat and his BGS Academy project
“I will continue working with my partner Adrian Blakemore, an exceptional, unassuming and passionate man; with my wife Bet Consegal (BGS Fitness Coach); with Cris Santamaría (BGS Social Media), who does an outstanding job; with Chimo Marmaneu who is always there; With all my students, professionals or not, because they are magnificent and with all those who are still to come.”
Víctor Montserrat and the future of Spanish Squash
“We like Squash, we love Squash, we live from and for Squash and
all of us who do things for Squash in Spain have to row TOGETHER. Only then can we grow: AND THAT’S CERTAINLY WHAT I WANT TO DO!!”
BGS Academy and the AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix 2016
For the BGS team these last few days in Manchester at this pretigious event have been a major sprintboard for gving us exposure. As a relatively new project (BGS has been up and running for only just under 1 year), it has meant a big steap forward. At the BGS stand installed at the Grand Prix venue at National Squash Center in Manchester, a lot of people were able to get closer to us and find out at first hand everything we have to offer to those who love our sport .
